Eeecast #2
Our 2nd Eee PC podcast is complete. Another CES rumor, the Eee PCs involvement in the Intel and OLPC breakup, and a couple of tips for Thunderbird email.
Neil from the eeeuser forums joined me on the podcast today. He has excellent insight on the current UMPC market.
Some information for an article in this show was provided by Paul Maddox of Eee-Developers.com
Forward email inline in Thunderbird
This corrects the problem where some mail servers block messages sent as attachments. Here’s an example email rejection:
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: someone@somewhere.com
This message has been rejected because it has a potentially executable attachment “subjectline.eml”
This form of attachment has been used by recent viruses or other malware. If you meant to send this file then please package it up as a zip file and resend it.
- Work Tab, Mail
- Edit, Preferences
- Composition Menu Item
- General Tab (Under composition item, not the General Menu Item)
- Forward Messages: Change from “As attachment” to “Inline”
- Click Close

2 for 2! GREAT show!
Q: Is Neil going to be a regular on the show. The fact that you have someone to interact with, really makes the show all that more enjoyable and probably easier for you to do.
Again! perfect length. I have a 15-20 minute walk to work and listening to the podcast makes the trip that much nicer.
Nice to see your download numbers have gone up too
Keep up the great work, you’re a Star!

Another podcast gem. I know the work and preparation involved with this and would like to say thanks for doing it. Neil was a great addition to the show.
The fact that you included Outlook in your Thunderbird tip will widen your audience to the Eee XP users.
Great job and thanks again.

Great show again … and the show length is spot on … here’s hoping the post-CES podcast is full of good news about EEEv2
Jacqueline, your presentation style is great, not too fast and clearly spoken … plus love the accent.
Look forward to future EEE Casts.
